A WINTER Olympics skater was left covered in blood after being sliced by an opponent’s blade.
Medics rushed to assist Kamila Sellier after her horror collision in the track speed skating quarter-final.

The incident happened after Sellier fell on the ice behind American skater Kristen Santos-Griswold.
As she fell Santos-Griswold raised a skate and the back of the blade made contact with Sellier’s face.

It cut open a wound on her face and immediately drew blood.
Sellier then skidded across the ice and ended up crashing into the wall of the rink.

Medics rushed to assist and managed to stabilise the 25-year-old.
But blood gushed from her face and medics held up a big sheet to protect her privacy.

Sellier was quickly fastened into a stretcher and escorted away.
She was then rushed to hospital where she will undergo X-rays.

Reports claim she was conscious throughout the crash, though she took damage to her cheekbone – centimetres below her left eye.
Italy‘s most successful Olympian Arianna Fontana was also involved in the crash, with Sellier wiping her out.

She licked her wounds and returned for the re-run and finished second behind South Korean Dohee Noh.
