At just 11 years old, Welsh guitarist Olly Pearson is fast becoming one of the brightest young names in rock.
Fresh off stealing the spotlight during the now-legendary “Bohemian Rhapsody” flash mob in Paris — a viral performance that drew nearly 200 million views worldwide — the guitar prodigy has once again wowed fans with a blistering take on QUEEN’s “Don’t Stop Me Now.”
Armed with his Patrick Eggle Berlin Pro, the same model once favored by Brian May himself, Pearson shredded through the song’s fiery solos in a recent studio video that has since earned him global praise.
Fans from France to Indonesia to Argentina have flooded his channel with comments, many echoing the same sentiment: “Olly is going to be one of the greatest guitar players ever.”
This isn’t the first time Pearson has left audiences speechless. Earlier this year, he stormed the stage on Britain’s Got Talent, earning two Golden Buzzers — a first in the show’s history — after delivering a jaw-dropping medley of rock classics from AC/DC, Van Halen, and Queen.
Judge Amanda Holden declared, “A star is born. I have never, ever seen anything like that in my life,” while Simon Cowell praised his already unique sound: “You’re that good. Seriously good.”
Pearson’s performance in Paris, where 30 musicians and singers came together to honor Queen’s 50-year-old masterpiece “Bohemian Rhapsody,” cemented his breakout moment.
With his soaring guitar solos echoing through the streets alongside vocalist Mickey Callisto and pianist Julien Cohen, the flashmob became an instant cultural phenomenon, drawing more than 11 million likes in just three days.
Despite the whirlwind of attention, Olly remains grounded and focused on his ultimate dream: “I want to become the best guitarist in the world,” he said, citing Angus Young, Eddie Van Halen, and Brian May as his biggest inspirations.
For many fans, his path already seems clear. As one commenter put it: “Brian May would have a blast hearing this — Olly is carrying rock and roll into the future.”
