LINDSEY Vonn has shared an update on her injury from the hospital, revealing she is \u201cslowly coming back to life\u201d following her Winter Olympics crash.<\/p>\n

The 41-year-old suffered a \u201ccomplex\u201d fracture to her left leg after crashing just 14 seconds into her run in the women\u2019s downhill skiing event earlier this month.<\/p>\n

It came just over one week after she suffered a ruptured ACL while competing in Crans-Montana, Switzerland.<\/p>\n

Vonn has spent the last nine days bed-bound in hospital, having already endured multiple surgeries.<\/p>\n

And on Monday she shared a positive update, revealing she is now going \u201cback to basics\u201d and enjoying the \u201csimple things in life\u201d despite her injury.<\/p>\n

She took to Instagram to write, \u201cThankful for friends, family, my team and all the medical staff that are getting me back to myself\u2026.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m slowly coming back to life, back to basics and the simple things in life that mean the most. Smile. Laugh. Love.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy sister @kar_inthegarage made this video and it instantly made me cry and made my heart full. Love you guys.\u201d<\/p>\n

Vonn is now back in the US after being discharged from the hospital in Italy.<\/p>\n

She took to X to write, \u201cHaven\u2019t stood on my feet in over a week\u2026 been in a hospital bed immobile since my race.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd although I\u2019m not yet able to stand, being back on home soil feels amazing.<\/p>\n

\u201cHuge thank you to everyone in Italy for taking good care of me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Vonn requires more surgeries on her injured leg in the States, meaning she will remain in the hospital.<\/p>\n

Fans took to social media to wish her well in the next step of her recovery.<\/p>\n
